Notices that paused things, and the record of this guide
Hipobuy’s help centre keeps a list of notices. Some of them describe pauses: a system upgrade, a warehouse upgrade, a chat outage. They sit here with the edition log of this site.
Official notices
Hipobuy notices that paused something

Hipobuy’s notice list is mostly promotions, but a handful of official notices describe pauses that look, from the outside, like a problem with your account. The clearest is a system upgrade notice dated 6 January 2026, which says the website and app would be unavailable and “all transactions will be paused”.
Read closely, its times do not add up: it gives the window as “from 11:40 PM to 1:00 PM (Beijing Time)” on 6 January, and normal use from 1:00 PM that day. This site quotes it as written.
Other notices describe a warehouse equipment upgrade of about 24 hours during a heatwave, an outage at the outside company that runs its live chat, which slowed replies, and peak-season shipping delays. A holiday notice for Mid-Autumn and National Day says all services ran as normal.
Announcements
A Hipobuy announcement that bears on shipping charges

Not every official announcement is about a pause. One notice still in the list launches Rehearsal Parcel, a new feature that works out a parcel’s weight and dimensions before you submit it, for a fixed 20 CNY a parcel. It is covered properly elsewhere; it appears here because shipping charges are a common source of later questions, and a measured weight is better evidence than an estimate.
Promotions change weekly, so this site does not list coupons or offers. When a Hipobuy banner advertises a discount, the terms on that banner and on the checkout screen are the ones that count, read on the day you use them.
The Rehearsal Parcel announcement carries no publication date, like most Hipobuy notices, so this site gives the date it read it.
Forums and social accounts Hipobuy points to

Hipobuy links to its Discord server, the r/Hipobuy_ community on Reddit, and accounts on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram. This site checked on 17 October 2026 that the Discord invite opens a server named HipoBuy.
Community feedback in these channels can show how others got on, but it is not a channel for a held payment. Hipobuy’s lock article asks you to contact customer service, and posts in a public thread do not count as notifying Hipobuy.
Forum threads are not used here as proof of how any dispute ended. Individual stories vary and cannot be checked, and treating them as data would be the kind of guesswork this guide avoids.
Dated record of each edition

Last updated 17 October 2026, the day this guide was first put together. On that day it re-read 30 Hipobuy help pages through Hipobuy’s public help centre and compared them with copies taken the day before; none had changed.
It also read each UK source in full: the Financial Ombudsman Service guide to Section 75 and chargeback, section 75 on legislation.gov.uk, the FCA’s Buy Now Pay Later page, PayPal’s UK Buyer Protection policy and dispute timeframes, the Companies House entry for company 16860663, and the UK International Consumer Centre. One candidate address for that centre now leads to an unrelated organisation, so this site links the address the Chartered Trading Standards Institute itself points to.
Each later change will be added here with its date.
How this site keeps its facts current
Every Hipobuy quote on this site links the help page it comes from and gives the date it was read. UK quotes link the official page, and each address was opened and its text read, because an address can answer normally and still serve an error page.
Payment rules, quotas and limits can change. Recheck the current payment-provider terms before opening a dispute, and check the operator and register entry before relying on company details. A reading date records a snapshot, not a promise of continuing monitoring.
Promotions are left out entirely. They change faster than any guide can follow, and a stale coupon is worse than none.
