Hipobuy Spreadsheet UK · Disputes & Holds

The hold and dispute planner for Hipobuy payments

Choose your payment method and situation. You get Hipobuy’s own steps and time limits, what a dispute would put on hold across your account, and the UK routes for that method, each quoted from its source.

Your paths, listed

How to use the tool: pick one answer in each of the four groups, press List my paths, and read the lists that appear. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.

Two columns: the four inputs the planner takes and the four lists it returns

The planner works from fixed lists. Every line in its output is a sentence this site wrote from a Hipobuy help page or a UK official page read on 17 October 2026, and each line ends with a link to that page.

The order is the same every time: Hipobuy’s route first, then the hold, then the UK routes. That order follows the questions people tend to ask in sequence. It is not a recommendation and it is not a ranking.

Selection rules

How the planner chooses each line

Five selection rules the planner follows, such as credit card and PayPal disputes being named by the lock article

For the hold list, the planner looks at your payment method first. Hipobuy’s lock article names disputes on PayPal and credit card transactions. For a debit card or Klarna it prints that the article does not mention the method, rather than guessing either way.

Parcels and orders you enter are written back into the hold list with their number, because the lock wording covers the whole account. The free storage question appears every time, because Hipobuy never answers it.

For UK routes, the method decides the list: chargeback and Section 75 for a credit card; chargeback, with the ombudsman’s note that Section 75 does not apply, for a debit card; Buyer Protection for PayPal; the FCA’s Buy Now Pay Later rules for Klarna. The UK International Consumer Centre appears for everyone.

Where every planner line comes from

Register card of the six source groups the planner quotes, from the Hipobuy help centre to the UK International Consumer Centre

These are the pages the planner quotes. Each was opened on 17 October 2026 and read in full; the UK pages were also checked for a real page behind the address, since a working address can still serve an error page.

If any of these pages changes, the planner’s line is wrong until this site re-reads it. The edition log on the notices page records each reading.

Limits

Things the planner refuses to do

Five things the planner never prints, including whether a claim would succeed and which route is better

A tool like this could easily drift into advice. This one stops short on purpose. It will not tell you whether a chargeback would succeed, because nobody outside your bank can know that.

It will not compare routes for speed or strength, and it will not work out deadline dates from your delivery date. Time limits are printed as the sources write them, with the source beside them, so you can check them against your own dates.

If you need a judgement on your own case, the ombudsman’s guide says your bank or lender should explain chargeback and Section 75 to you, and the UK International Consumer Centre gives free advice on buying from outside the UK.
